Something about the pier made Faye feel...calm.
Maybe it was the salty smell of the ocean, but here
was where Faye Tinker felt her most comfortable.
She was leaning against the pier, watching the waves
move up and down the shore. For a few moments, she
felt at peace, but was soon interupted by a family that
was passing by. "Mommy, I like that lady's hair!" said
the young girl, pointing at Faye's blonde hair, which was
falling past her shoulders, moving in the slight breeze.

Faye laughed quietly, feeling accomplished with her look
that day. She'd been in a truly green mood, so she found
an old tank top, tossing that on with a pair of shorts, adding
her green apple earrings and her green converse. She really
was in a green mood, whatever that meant.

She turned, spying a vendor selling cotton candy, and went
digging into her jeans pocket to pull out a few crumpled bills.
She handed them over and watched him prepare it, the pink
fluff clinging to the stick for dear life. He held it out to her, and
she murmured a simple "Thanks." before returning to her
spot, taking a piece of it in her mouth, the sugar melting on her
tongue.

Faye looked down, taking off another piece of cotton candy, it
filling her face sort of like a beard. A few bites later, all that was
left on her face were sticky pink remains, a smile on her face as
she continued to chow down, almost as if she hadn't eaten in a
very long period of time. This truly was one of those moments
where her fast metabolism was indeed her best friend.

She continued to watch the water, the waves moving along the
sand, in a pattern. Up and down, up and down. It was making her
sleepy...until she averted her eyes to the people strollng up and
down the boardwalk, waiting for that one distraction.

[Kida Nedal]

Kida needed a distraction. Any sort of distraction. Her head was filled up with so many memories, half of which weren't hers. She wondered why none of the other students had such problems with their spirits. Was hers particularly vicious? Or was she just sad? Kida had long ago given up understanding the princess.

Kida walked along, glancing at the people around her. She caught sight of a little girl and her family. She looked to be in her early teens. Kida's throat constricted. She reminded herself that her curse was not the curse that every family faced. That girl would turn 13, 14, 15 and so on, and her parents would be fine. But it reminded Kida of her own parents. The ones that had been dead for 5 years. Just then an image flashed through her mind. A royal family with white hair.

Get out of my head! She though angrily. Find someone else to haunt! She scowled, staring at her feet. She didn't realize there was someoe in front of her till she ran into them. The first thing she noticed was green converses. She struggled to keep her balance for a moment before glancing at the girl with an apologetic grin. "I am so sorry." She said. "I really need to stop doing that."
