"Hah!"
A boyish shout filled the air, followed by the crunch of dried leaves on the ground.
"Ah!"
Once again, a frantic outcry and another crunch. This time an exhale before the sound of something solid hitting the forest floor.
Cameron was so bored! Faye was off doing something in the city, and she said it was important and private so he couldn't come, Angel was hanging out with that weird detective guy's assistant, Dawn was with Prince Phillip--here the boy scrunched up his nose--and Winnie was who knows where. So here he was, with nothing to do.
Cam had considered flying around the school and bothering villains, mostly listening in their conversations and telling people about it. But he already did that with Faye yesterday, and it just didn't seem as much fun 'cause she was his sidekick and everything mischievous he did just felt boring without her.
In lieu of his boredom threatening to consume him, the blonde had set out for the nature trail, though his adventurous spirit wasn't satisfied with just that. Instead he'd flown across the tree tops for a time before spotting a clearing and settling down. At first he was content with nature, sort of anyway. He played with a few rabbits bold enough to come close, and even talked with an owl. Not that he knew what he was saying of course, but he could pretend.
He guessed a lot of the animals' friendliness had to do with his outfit. When he was younger, back when Cameron's mom and him lived together, she saw how much he played outside and dirtied up his clothing. To remedy this, she made an outfit made of nothing but leaves and vines so he could roll around all he wanted and not have to worry about getting dirty. It was a wonder it had lasted this long, but then again his mom was just so good at making stuff. Like one time when she made his cookies, just for him and her, none for his dad, they had been so gooey and warm and he loved them.
Now at one point Cameron thought he'd heard the noise of something not belonging to an animal and, on an instinct not belonging to himself, drew his dagger immediately. He circled the clearing for a short time, before realizing he really wasn't all that knowledgeable on how to fight with it anyway. Scrunching his nose, Cam had supposed the instincts and thought process was all there, but the abilities had to be learned.
So with a flourish he swung the dagger through the air, jabbing at pretend enemies with swift, but unsteady movements. After a few minutes, Cameron gave up and collapsed on the ground in defeat, arms and legs spreadeagled around him.
"I just don't get it," he muttered, before giving a loud groan. "I'm so bored~!" notes: Oh dear lord~ credit: hollow HALLELUJAH ! of caution 2.0

"You know. You really should learn to use that before simply swinging it around like a child. You'll end up hurting yourself instead of an opponent."
The unfamiliar voice caught Cameron off guard. With a start, he leaped to his feet, quickly pointing the dagger outwards in defense.
A boy, well man in Cameron's eyes, just stood there like so..confident. Scrunching up his nose, the blonde eyed him over, taking in his attire. It was so fancy and tidy. All clean cut and grown up. But that's just it, a grown up, a..a man. The word was insulting in itself, and Cam was loathe to even think it.
"I meant to do it like that," he lied, lips pouting slightly, "It's my own personal style. The Pan style!" With a grin, he sheathed the dagger back into the pouch hastened to his hips, before crossing his arms across his chest, standing up straight as if to look taller.
There was a nagging familiarity in this..man, but the boy couldn't put his finger on it. There was immediate distrust, but that was normal when he met any grown up. They were all looking for the same thing, anyway. Trying to teach him this, and saying he needed a bath. Well if Cameron had it his own way, he'd never learn how to read and he'd bath only when he wanted to!
With that confident thought, the blonde's feet left the ground briefly, and he slowly glided forward to inspect the stranger's face until their noses were inches apart.
"You're funny looking," he finally concluded, slipping backwards and flipping his body so he was upside down in midair, still staring outwardly at the other.

James arched a brow at the boy as the youth leapt up then pointed his dagger at his person. Just as spontaneous as the spirit he housed. His own spirit riled and he simply slapped it down. He wasn't someone to allow himself to be controlled in such a manner. While he did house the Captain, he would never allow himself to do something foolish, like hurt a child. Well.. He could hurt in other manners other than physically. Mentally was a bit more gratifying in his book.
The other observed him and he simply stood there, book in hand, his free hand now resting in his pants pocket. He chuckled at the boy's statement and the pout. So much like his little Cassie. That reminded him. He would have to call her tonight or she would be highly upset. And he loved her dearly. He had felt torn to leave her in England. Isabella had been his friend growing up since they only had one another on the ship. And while he was nine years older, he still played with her, not minding to simply sit in on one of her Barbie tea parties.
"I'm sure," he responded gently and then he watched as the other floated up and James had to blink as the boy brought their faces so close together. He arched a brow again and smirked slightly. "And you can't handle a dagger. So we both have our faults," he responded back smoothly and then without warning lifted himself slightly and licked the tip of Pan's nose before leaning back and chuckling. He tended to do that to his little sister to throw her off kilter.

"And you can't handle a dagger. So we both have our faults."
Cameron's lips twisted and he crossed his arms over his chest tightly. "I can too handle a dagger! I can handle anything in the world, just you watc--"
There was a sudden..wet feeling on his nose. Widening his eyes, the blonde flew backwards suddenly and, sticking out his own tongue, wiped furiously at the offended spot.
"Gross!" he yelled, glaring furiously, "Why would you do that? Grown ups aren't supposed to lick people, you know!" Throwing his arms tightly his his sides, Cam's gentle floating quickly depleted and he just caught himself before he toppled to the ground. Stupid grown ups and their tongues. It wasn't a happy thought, and Cameron didn't like getting licked.
Standing up straight, the boy folded his arms confidently once again. "Who are you anyway?" he asked pointedly, his face suddenly the picture of curiousity. His feet lost touch with the earthy ground once again and, mind focused now on the stranger's identity, he floated towards him again.
"Somethin's kinda familiar," he mused, a hand coming out to poke at the man's cheek, "Kinda weird." It wasn't even his face or anything either. Just the way he talked and looked at things. His eyes were really blue, really weird. The way he held himself was so..confident, Cameron guessed. Like he knew what he was doing and had every right to do whatever he wanted. It was a little annoying, 'cause adults were always acting like they could do anything and could boss him around. This stranger probably wasn't any different.
"Are you a teacher?" he asked, running a finger down the man's face, " 'Cause I'm not skippin' class, you know."
