JIAN-YU SHANG LIlaying my head on needle like worries Dusting off his button up plaid shirt, Jian-Yu stopped just short of the entrance doorway. Even though he liked to play sports and was actually very good at most of the ones he tried, that didn't mean he enjoyed being sweaty and dirty. Most of the time, Jian-Yu headed for the showers as soon as he got off the field. This time though, he hadn't exactly been playing anything, but he had climbed a tree. Another students hat had blown away in the breeze and Jian-Yu simply hadn't been able to resist the chance to play the hero. So naturally, he retrieved the hat, no matter how ugly it was.
And it was a very, very ugly hat. Make no mistake about that.
Even so, Jian-Yu had returned the hat with a chivalrous smile and then promptly proceeded to brush the tree debris off of his clothing. As a soft sigh escaped from his lips, he allowed his dark brown eyes to sweep up and over the impending building before him. Truth be told, he didn't really want to go inside. The people inside of those walls (namely the professors) tried to make him use his brain and that wasn't typically something Jian-Yu enjoyed very much. So, he dragged his feet.
Perching himself upon a two person bench beside a rather irritatingly well manicured bush, Jian-Yu leant back with a small groan. Parts of his body ached from the work out that he'd put himself through earlier. He knew that he perhaps went a too far, worked his muscles too much, but he just couldn't help himself. Sometimes he didn't think too much about consequences, only the results he wanted. He had to keep himself looking presentable.
He needed to look perfect for the hundreds of people that would one day need saving.

OutfitAnn muttered, kicking stones as she walked, cursing. She cursed the weather, she cursed the wind, she cursed her hat for being taken by the wind. It was sunny now too so it was annoying not to have a hat. As she walked, she stuffed her hands into the pocket of her jacket. She let her keys and change jingle as she walked. A bench came into view. On it was a guy and in the guy's hand was her hat. "Hey! Hey you! Yeah, you! On the bench! That's my hat!"

JIAN-YU SHANG LIlaying my head on needle like worries For a moment, Jian-Yu turned the hat over and over in his hands, brown eyes staring down at it. Who would ever wear something so ugly? It was a tacky little cabbie hat.. the worst kind of hat in existence, honestly. Making a small twisted little face of disapproval, Jian-Yu looked up. The person he'd climbed up to retrieve the hat for hadn't stepped forward to claim it and he wasn't about to carry this thing around all day.
It was then that a voice floated to his ears and he looked up suddenly. It was a girl that looked equally as boyish as this hat did. He blinked, a surprised expression dawning on his face. "I just climbed a tree and pulled it out. There's no need to yell at me like I stole it, miss.." Standing up from the bench, he stepped forward and extended the hat out to her. "Seriously, I don't wanna keep that thing.."

" Seriously, I don't wanna keep that thing.."Ann raised an eyebrow, looking at her hat. Yep it was her's. "I didn't mean to make it sound like I was accusing you of taking it," she said honestly. "I was just trying to conform that it was mine." She then took the hat and placed it on her head. She was glad to have it back to say the least. It was her uncle's hat and she had "borrowed" it before she had left home. "One, its not a thing, its a hat. Two, respect is very important on a first impression."

JIAN-YU SHANG LIlaying my head on needle like worries Watching with a raised eyebrow as the girl took the hat back and placed it on top of her head, Jian-Yu said not a word. She was very defensive.. and where in the blue hell did he come across as disrespectful? He cleared his throat, having to remind himself that this was a lady and he usually tried not to speak to women in such a way.. but she was already somewhat getting on his nerves. "Excuse me, miss.. but I fail to see anywhere in what I said where I was being disrespectful. If I recall the conversation correctly, you were the one who was coming at me."
Jian-Yu paused for a moment, almost regretting that he even took the time to climb up the tree in the first place. "I climbed up the tree, messed up my clothes and my hair, to save that hat. You could at least say thank you. And yes, it is a thing.. because even if it's a hat, it's a thing.. because all objects are things." Has he said that right? Jian-Yu blinked, confused by his own words just a tad.
He wasn't known for brains.
NOTE: Sorry it sucks.. I'm honesty not used to writing posts this short anymore. XD

"Excuse me, miss.. but I fail to see anywhere in what I said where I was being disrespectful. If I recall the conversation correctly, you were the one who was coming at me."Ann opened her mouth to reply only to realize he was right. She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. She hated it when someone outsmarted her. "I climbed up the tree, messed up my clothes and my hair, to save that hat. You could at least say thank you. And yes, it is a thing.. because even if it's a hat, it's a thing.. because all objects are things.""Your right, I'm sorry," Ann muttered. "Thanks for getting my hat, its technically not mine so its nice to have it back. I'm sorry for being rude." And she had no idea why those words came out of her mouth. JIAN-YU SHANG LIlaying my head on needle like worries Jian-Yu raised his eyebrow as he watched the girl open and close her mouth like a fish out of water. Obviously, she had realized he was right. This in itself caused a small smirk to tug at the corners of his lips. He loved it when he was right and when he proved it to someone else. Lifting up his hand, he waved it nonchalantly in between the two of them as he dismissed her apology. "Don't worry about it, it was my pleasure. Just perhaps you should choose your words more carefully next time.."
His smirk slowly shifted into a warm smile as Jian-Yu considered her for a moment. Then he took a few steps forward, slowly because she seemed like the hitting type if she got too startled, with his right hand extended in her direction. A handshake seemed like the proper thing to do at this point, didn't it? "I'm Jian-Yu Li.. What's your name?" Truth be told, he expected something common.. maybe Maria, Annamaria, or Avamaria.. Or.. Maria.

"Don't worry about it, it was my pleasure. Just perhaps you should choose your words more carefully next time.." Ann nodded in agreement.
"I usually have trouble keeping my mouth shut," she admitted. "Usually gets me in trouble or in a fight." She let out an embarrassed chuckle.

"Annibelle Santiago," she introduced. "But I only let people call me Ann. Annibelle is overly girlish for me." She smiled widely, tipping her hat. "Jian-Yu huh? Cool name."
