Eyes:

Jian-Yu's eyes are a rather curious almond shape, with the typical Asian-style eye color of dark brown. Sometimes when he smiles, it appears as though his eyes shrink in size.

Skin:

His skin is absolutely immaculate, as he will have it no other way. There is hardly a blemish on his face and if one appears, it is taken care of very quickly. Jian-Yu takes pride in maintaining the perfect balance of color, being neither too tan nor too pale.

Build:

Muscles is the ultimate goal with Jian-Yu. He's somewhere in between. He has decent sized muscles, but they're nowhere near as big as he would like. This is definitely a work in progress for him, as he wants to be the perfect specimen of a man and remain fit and in shape. His body frame is solid and doesn't appear frail by any stretch of the imagination.

Appearance:

Jian-Yu looks just like a typical Asian male. He isn't very tall, standing at only 5'8", but he makes up for it in muscle tone and charm. Of course, Jian-Yu's hair is dark brown as are his eyes. He has a smile and a look about him that speaks gentleness but also a slight hint of arrogance, though sometimes he masks it with a blank stare. Jian-Yu's clothing is simple most of the time. He likes a comfortable pair of blue jeans with a belt an either a t-shirt or a button up shirt. A lot of times, he'll leave the button up wide open so that others can gaze at his chest and possible get distracted. He likes to think of himself as pretty fashionable and interesting to look at. Even though his clothing taste his simple, it's always brand name and he never looks dirty.

• His arrogance. He thinks he's fantastic! Though he does his best to mask this.

Secrets

Jian-Yu kissed a boy and he liked it. Even though it's not really that much of a secret because Jian-Yu considers himself pansexual, he doesn't really openly talk about it. Also, he's deathly afraid of cockroaches. Don't show him one. He'll freak out. He also secretly sells illegal fireworks.

Personality:

First and foremost, Jian-Yu is a closet egotist. Because of the fact that Jian-Yu is egotistical, he is also quite stubborn. He doesn't want to hear anyone tell him things he needs to change or improve upon. Jian-Yu sticks to his ground and it's usually very hard to get him to budge. However.. He really is a sweetheart when you're on his good side. He'll always approach a first time meeting with a smile (that is, unless you spilled something on his clothes) and give someone the chance to be a friend. He's selective with his close friends however, and doesn't let just anyone into his circle of friendship. Those who do managed to squeeze their way in are well taken care of though. Jian-Yu really is a good friend.

Above all, however, is his impeccable sense of duty. If he sees something bad happening, Jian-Yu is not the kind of person to ignore it. He'll try to help anyone unless they've gotten on his bad side. In a way, he sort of feels like it's his job to protect everyone. In hectic situations, even though he doesn't have exceptionally good brain skills, he likes to become sort of the leader of the pack.

Jian-Yu is able to scale tall poles in a single leap. No, but seriously.. He doesn't really do anything special unless you consider is extraordinary athletic abilities. He also can shoot a bow and arrow pretty well.

History:

Jian-Yu Shang Li was born to Zihao and Bao-Yu Li in Beijing, China. However, when he was not even two years old his parents uprooted and moved to America. As a result, he grew up with both American and Chinese heritage. He's not very good at Mandarin, though, because he never really cared enough to learn (against his mothers extreme protests). His young life was fairly uneventful, his mother being a house wife and his father becomin a successful police officer.

When Jian-Yu got older, it began to become apparent that Zihao wanted Jian-Yu to follow in his foot steps. He encouraged Jian-Yu to become fit and strong, trying to instill good routine and morals into his son. It was around this time, when Jian-Yu was twelve, that he began to get heavily into sports in order to build up his physique. So now, as far as he knows, he is in training and preparation to become a police officer.

However, what he really wants to do is keep selling his illegal fireworks (ask Katie.. >>).

rp sample: It was truly a beautiful night. Most of the time, Jian-Yu didn't spend too much time paying attention to mundane things such as how nice the stars looked shining in the night sky. But now, the Asian couldn't help but notice as the sun sunk low among the horizon of the water that this place was absolutely stunning. He was leaning against the railing of the boardwalk, both elbows propped onto the dark wood. A small smile crept upon his lips as he suddenly realized that he could feel the wind blowing through his hair. Jian-Yu knew by the setting sun that he should be heading back soon, but honestly, screw going back.

After a few moments, Jian-Yu turned to lean his back against the railing. His burnt dark brown eyes began to slowly sweep across the boardwalk. As it was getting late, there really weren't too many people here. There was a rather happy looking couple enjoying each others company off to one side, a young woman walking her small dog on a leash, and a an extremely attractive man standing a ways down smoking a cigarette. A soft sigh escaped from his lips as Jian-Yu directed his gaze elsewhere. Then it hit him. There was an extremely attractive man other there. Quickly, his mind back tracked and he looked at the other again.

Orange hair. A nice head of orange hair. Jian-Yu smirked as he pushed himself away from the railing. Without even thinking twice, he made his way towards the man. Taking a moment to let his eyes wander and quickly dismissing all thoughts of flirtatiousness because this man was probably straight as an arrow, Jian-Yu cleared his throat softly. "Hello."
