Appearance:
Mahaila has her mother's looks. Long beautiful face with full lips, lovely soft tan skin, high cheekbones and a wonderful smile that would light up the night in no time. Her eyes are dark brown, which when she gets mad, they look black. They are almond shaped. Her brownish black hair is long and wavy and is about to the middle of her back. It's always left loose to sway in the breeze. Her hair and eyes are the reason she is envied by the other girls in her Tribe. And she is always told that she's the spilting image of her Mother, which she believes after seeing the pictures. Her height is about 5'3 and her body frame is slightly thin with curves in the right places. Now, as for clothes, the colors are always earth tones. But, she sometimes goes into wearing black. It's rare but it does happen.

Her language - She hates to hear someone butcher it if they are not familiar with it.
Cute guys - She likes the ones that look younger then her. But, she does make expections.
Being treated special by her people - Mahaila knows that she's the next to be head of the Tribe but, she doesn't like special treatment.
Not being taken seriously - This really gets her fired up. She may be young but, she knows what she's talking about.
Being pushed into things - She mostly likes to take things slow. But, she can't help it. She's a teenager.

Her being strong-willed - Mahaila is the type to do what she thinks is best. Sometimes it leads to good things happening.
Her gentle and open heart - When it comes to animals, she's like a human shelter. She's always open.
Her speed - Running in the woods, she's very fast. So, it seems she has the upper hand sometimes.
Thinking about her mother - She never knew her but, always felt like she did. Mostly from pictures that her father has.
Faith in the Spirits of the Earth - Mahaila is always a believer and knows that the Spirits will do their parts in her life.

Personality:
Mahaila is a noble young woman, having a wisdom beyond her years. That's mainly the reason she only has a couple friends, since they think she's a stick in the mud. But, when they see the playful side of her, they think otherwise. Especially, if they pay closer attention to her middle name. It means Little Mischief. Beneath the playful side, there lays a somewhat more mature side. She knows when to pay close attention to something and stands for what she thinks is right. She is also very kind and offers guidance to anyone she thinks needs it. So, she pretty much a good listener and adviser. Mahaila is more free-spirited then most girls her age. She loves to feel the wind in her hair, while others freak and try to fix their hair. She loves to action on impulse, meaning when she sees water, she will jump right it in with her clothes on.

History:
Mahaila was born of Paul and Alice Dearheart. Her father was Chief of the Powhatan tribe. Her mother died in childbirth, bringing her into the world. As she grew, she realized that her middle name was the name of the Native American Princess Pocahontas. People mostly connected her to the Disney movie, which she didn't mind so much. Instead of the real life woman. Anyway, the years went by and Paul noticed that his deceased wife's personality and way of life had been reborn in their daughter. Along wih having her Mother's beauty, which caused much envy among the other women in the tribe while the men drooled over her. She would, growing up, bring stray animals home and beg her father to let her keep them. One of them being a humming bird, which was her favorite.

Seeing that she had no Mother figure in her life, one of the Elderly women who was like a Grandmother to everyone, adopted Mahaila to be one of her many Granddaughters. Grandmother Willow was the woman's name and was the only one that did not speak English. She only spoke the language of their People. And she was also the Medicine Woman as well. So, whenever Mahaila would have dreams, she would always be told that they were telling her bits and pieces about her future. One not including the guy that her Father was trying to get her to date, when she first turned 17, with thoughts that she would marry him. Like Kocoum from the Disney movie, he was far too serious for her taste. But, Mahalia fixed him up with her best friend, since she knew that she had a crush on the too-serious-for-his-age guy. Anyway, Grandmother Willow believes that the Princess has shamanic powers, being more in tune with the Earth and animals.

Soon, after her Father came back from meeting with the other chiefs from the other Tribes, some company named Radcliffe Corp came and said that the reservation needed to be moved for some Gold mining. Being the strong-willed yet stubborn young woman she was, Mahaila stood up to the head. Only for her friend to pull her back and tell her not to do anything. But, that was her friend, who was afraid to do anything. She was friends with the wrong Powhatan girl. She stood up for what she believed was right. Running to Grandmother Willow, she told her that she didn't know what to do. Her Father was planning to speak with them but, she had a bad feeling about it and she wanted to tell them to leave and never come back. She was told to listen to what her heart tells her and let the spirits guide her. To cool down, she went into the forest nearby and ran to where the river began at the waterfall. Only to meet the son of the man that was trying to move her tribe. At first, she didn't want to speak with him but, seeing that he wasn't like his father, whom he mentioned was his Stepfather, she decided to trust him.

After a few days of hanging out with eachother, Mahaila started to grow to like him and she could tell that he was feeling the same about her. So, without telling her father, she would sneak out and meet with him. The more their relationship grew, the more hatred between their sides. Soon, after, she received a letter from the School of Struggling Children and heartbrokenly left the reservation. Heartbroken that she was leaving, the night before she paid one more visit to Grandmother Willow. Telling the elder that she was confused why the Spirits were leading her away from her love, just to be told one again. Listen to your heart. She left and prays to the Spirits that her people would be okay without her there. But, maybe it won't be so bad.
