Copper had been searching everywhere for Tod. And when I say Everywhere I mean everywhere. Copper had to tell Tod the truth about why he apologized. He couldn't just do that then watch the boy start crying. His heart tightened and it almost felt like someone was grabbing it. God Dammit! Where the heck could he be? Copper thought cursing out loud. He had to find Tod, he had to tell him... He had to tell him he loved him.
"Tod??" Copper called out when he reached the stables. It seemed like a good hiding spot, one where it would seem like Copper would look alst. Copper walked in looking around, searching every stall for his friend Tod. He needed Tod, As much as Copper didn't want to admit it, he needed Tod like a drug. a Clumsy, red headed, completely understanding drug. He heard a noise and followed it hoping to Find his best friend

& F A L L A P A R T• • • • •Tod was laying in the loft of the stables, wear they kept all the hay. It was quiet up here, leaving Tod to just wallow in his misery. Fuck, he was just going to give up on Copper, forget he ever liked him, but the memory of that kiss haunted his mind, made his lips tingle from the memory. Stupid idiot... And then their most recent argument, that just confused the hell out of Tod.
What did Copper mean by I love you? Like a brother? A close friend? A lover? Shit. As Winnie would say, Bollocks. There went the plan to just give up on loving his best friend. Why was life so mean to Tod? What did he do to deserve this kind of pain? Life sucked. Tod sighed, and sat up, straw sticking out from under his blue hat. How long had he been laying there? He must have missed all his classes by now. And then, just as Tod started to get up, he heard Copper yell out his name.
Tod's eyes widened and his sneaker hit the floor wrong, causing him to noisily fall back on the floor with a large fump. Shit! Now Copper would know that he was up here! Tod scrambled back to his feet, then nimbly ran across the floor over to the farthest back corner, hidden from sight by a large stack of hay. It's officially, life sucked AND it hated him.

Copper followed the noise. Followed it up into the loft and searched for the cause. "Dammit Tod... Where are you?" He muttered to himself as he looked around. What use was it having the spirit of an Animal if he couldn't use it? He listened and heard shallow breathing. Smelled the air and he smelt Tod. He followed that to the very back of the loft, back to the biggest pile of hay to hide behind.
"Come on out Tod... I... We need to talk." Copper said his voice cracking only mildy. It onyl did that when... Well whenever he came close to saying I love you to Tod. Several times. He didn't know what he was gonna do. They had alreayd argued and he had said I lvoe you and then Tod ran off. Ran off to the stables. Copper was really glad he had the spirit of an animal inside him or else it would ahve taken weeks to find Tod.
"Please. I have something to say, it's... It's important." Copper said gulping and trying not to look like he was about to puke. He honestly needed to make things right but his gut was twisting in several different ways. He hoped, prayed, Tod would come out so Copper could Apologize and tell him the Truth for once in hi God forsaken Life.

& F A L L A P A R T• • • • • Todd shoved his back into the corner, his knees pulled up to press his face into his knees. He flinched at Copper's voice, calling him out, begging him. Tod's heart yearned to go to him, be held by him, just let everything be alright with them. As if the apologies didn't happen.
But they did happen, nothing was alright with them, Tod's mind knew that. It knew he'd be hurt by Copper again, and again and again if he kept going back. His mind was smart, it was telling his body that Copper was the bad guy. His body reacted by trying to put as much space between them as possible. Tod's back was so far pushed against the wooden wall, it was amazing the wood hadn't broken with the strain.
It hurt, knowing that he was so close to Copper, yet nothing he could do without being hurt. So he hid himself from his friend, Copper would give up looking soon. Hopefully. Tod could stay in the same place for days, unless he got some water, then he could stay there for a week and a half before he passed out with malnutrition. Tod was good at keeping still, quiet, and outlasting any threat that might be in store for him. And right now, to Tod, Copper was a threat.
But Tod's heart was fighting to be heard, trying to convince both body and mind that being with Copper was good enough, no matter the pain. Tod's body was conflicted, it half wanted to listen to Tod's heart, the other to Tod's mind. He stayed still and quiet for a long time, but he knew that Copper was still there. That's when Tod's voice and mouth betrayed his mind.
"Why?" he asked. Why did he apologize? Why did he kiss him? Why did he hurt him? That one word, barely above a whisper, but Tod's heart panged, because he knew that Copper heard him.

"Why?" was the only thing Copper could here. His herat ached against his chest and he wanetd to reach out to Tod, to hold him and say everything was alright. Why the hell did Copper have to be such a screw up all the time? In the eyes of his dad, in the eyes if his adoptive brother, and now in the eyes of Tod. He wnated to go jump off a bridge right now. Send a thousand roses to Tod if it would make everything okay. Copper moved, not quickly but quietly as he went to find Tod.
"Because I'm a Fuck up? Because I didn't know you didn't feel that way about me? Because I'm afraid? Because I've been in love with you for forever? Because if my dad or Chief finds out, I'm dead? Take your pick. I have a much longer list." Copper said croutching down so he was eye level with Tod. He knew he had made th kid cry, he knew if Copepr hand't found him Tod wouldn't have moved from this spot for days. Copper knew so much that he wasn't letting on.
"I'm sorry for ignoring you because I thought It'd make it easier for when you broke my heart. I'm sorry for not telling you everything. I'm sorry for not talking to you. I'm sorry.... I'm sorry I'm Gay." The last thing Copper said came out barely above a whisper as tears trickled from his face. Why was he confessing everything now? Why was he telling the truth now? Because he had to... Anbd Copper knew it too.
