Walking through the front double doors of the school, Mako made his way to the front desk, hoping that he was in the right place. Looking around, he smiles at the secretary, bowing low and taking off his hat politely since she's a lady and he a gentleman. Holding the ball of his cane in one hand and grasping the stem in the other, he speaks with a soft voice that carries a slight Japanese accent.
"Hello, Miss. I'm Makoto Kobayashi, and I've just been assigned the teaching position for Manners One-oh-one. I'm simply wondering what I have to do in order to become official staff here. To get the staff badge, privileges and all, you see."
"Oh! Alright, then." She handed him a stack of papers and a pen. "Fill these out, if you please, and return them. I'll get you put into the system shortly after that, and then we'll take you to get your picture taken for your badge."
He took the papers and pen into his hand with a smile. "Thank you very much, Miss. It is most assuredly appreciated." Walking over to the row of chairs in the waiting area along the wall, he sat down and rested the papers on his lap, clicking the pen so the tip was revealed. Just as he touched pen to paper, the doors opened again, allowing someone else entry. Never having a very long attention span, he looked up, his dark brown eyes focusing on the person. A wide smile came across his porcelain white face as he realized who it was. "USAGI!"

. . . x[ USAGI MIYAZAKI ]x . . . ( A VERY MERRY UNBIRTHDAY TO YOU ! ) It was very fascinating, Usagi Miyazaki's pocket watch. He was also very frightened of it. Despite the fact that he was afraid, Usagi carried it around with him where ever he went. Well, truth be told, it wasn't the same watch. Usagi had to replace his pocket watch at least two or three times a week because his best friend Makoto Kobayashi would often catch him with it and smash it mercilessly with his cane. It was a cycle, really. Usagi would get teary eyed and ask why Makoto smashed his favorite pocket watch, and then Makoto would explain that he hated pocket watches.
Today he had a brand new, shiny silver pocket watch in his right hand. It was freshly purchased, not even an hour ago, from a jewelry store a few blocks down. With a rather large smile plastered upon his soft pink lips, Usagi looked up from the pocket watch and slipped it carefully into the pocket of his yellow and pink jacket. All was well with the world once more.
Now with the matter of the pocket watch taken care of, Usagi knew that he had to go register for this school. He didn't really want to.. but since he found out that Makoto was going to be teaching there, well, that sealed the deal. Honestly, Usagi would do pretty much anything for Makoto because Makoto was the only person who truly understood him.
Pulling the door to the registration office, his dark brown eyes glanced up, a rather far off look glittering within them. Usagi had deliberately thrown away his medication once more. When he did that, he became rather.. well, unstable. He closed the door behind him, jumping like a frightened bunny rabbit as he heard someone practically scream his name. Without looking to see who it was, his instant response was a panicked "I DIDN'T DO IT! YOU CAN'T PROVE IT!"
Gasping as his heart sped up in his chest, Usagi decided to finally check to see who actually yelled at him in the first place. Once his eyes fell upon that dark face, the little blonde relaxed instantly. "Oh! It's you, Mako-chan!" [/blockquote]

The paperwork forgotten for the moment, he leaves it and the pen in the chair he had been occupying in order to approach his friend and hug him happily. "Nonono, Usako. You haven't done a thing.. except walk in and make me a very happy man, that is. You know I adore seeing you. How in the world have you been? It's been quite some time since I've seen you, hasn't it? I had thought that the rather rude people in white coats had come to steal you away, but thankfully that is not the truth."
Of course the 'people in white coats' were to mean the staff of an insane asylum. The two of them were so off-kilter mentally, it was a wonder how they only owned approximately five prescriptions between them. The majority of the pills being Usagi's, of course. Mako himself made it seem as if he were quite grounded so well that he only received one or two at the most.
He looked around the lobby once more before looking at Usagi again. "So what brings you here, Usako? Are you a professor, too? Though I can't come up with what you would teach. You're so very intelligent.. you know a lot of things that I would never dream of knowing. Like the time you suggested that Jasmine tea go with the roasted rubber chicken soup? That was ingenious!"

. . . x[ USAGI MIYAZAKI ]x . . . ( A VERY MERRY UNBIRTHDAY TO YOU ! ) It was as if the moment that Makoto hugged him, all of his paranoid thoughts and fears flew out of the window. A soft smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he practically melted into the others arms. Makoto usually had this effect on him, though there were those rare times where Usagi was just inconsolable. This, luckily for the both of them seeing as how they were in the office of the school, was not one of those times. "No one's come to take me away, Mako-chan." He sobbed suddenly, looking as though he were so happy to see his friend that he were going to cry.
Suddenly, the young blonde pulled himself out of Makoto's grasp, standing up straight and wiping his watered eyes on his yellow and pink jacket sleeve. Slowly, he shook his head, hair falling over his glasses. "No. I'm a student." He paused, once more allowing his brown eyes to look up at his best friend. "Actually, I heard you were going to teach here and then I got invited to be a student. I wasn't gonna do it at first, because the hippo under my bed threatened to me if I did, but then when I learned you were gonna be a teacher I wanted to come. So.. So.. So that I could see you more." He failed to add in the part where he figured that Makoto could protect him from the people in the white coats. Those white coats scared him.
It seemed, however, that he would never mention the white coats. Makoto had begun to compliment his intelligence, which was something no one else seemed to do. His lips tugged into a wider grin, brown eyes now glittering with admiration. "See! You are the only one who understands me, Mako-chan! You are my only true friend! I mean, I have others, but they all don't understand.. I think they just go along with me. I think they think that something's wrong with me.."
Truth be told, something was wrong with him. Usagi was absolutely off his rocker. His elevator didn't go all the way up, and he was definitely a few french fries short of a Happy Meal. But with Makoto Kobayashi, everything was alright. It was always alright. [/blockquote]
