Dawson usually dons himself in suits of the dull gray or blue persuasion, appearing fairly professional while the clothing is actually inexpensive (as he occasionallyoften treats the poor). His figure is on the thick side while his height has remained fixed at 5’5” for quite some time. His hair is thin, nearly entering the balding stages, thus why he prefers to top his head with a cap of some sort. His shoes are equally nondescript as his outfit: scratched up dress shoes.

His complexion is usually pale, but his skin is currently tanned darkly as a result of his time in Afghanistan. This will gradually return to normal. His face is fully shaved, though his occasionally allows it to grow in to enjoy some hair on his head. His eyes are green, but on the fairly dark side and his hair is a mousey brown.

Dawson is plenty clumsy, often tripping on branches or rocks, and apt to become lost easily. His instinct and common sense is just as poor as his directional skills; it would not be surprising for him to be deceived by a child. However, many of the reasons for his flaws are considered positives. Dawson is a genuinely kind individual with a love for helping people. Initially, he had settled and grown bitter towards his family, but he found himself loving the smile and praise mere strangers offered.

Because of his childhood and its competitive nature, he is often envious of those who excel beyond his capabilities. He is not a natural talent, afterall, but a man who'd put forth nights and nights of effort to gain the position he has now. This is also an example of his persistence and spirited nature. Even though he was gifted with very little that society values, he is still moreso optimistic and persistent in his aims.

He can be a fairly awkward man, fidgeting and having difficult forming sentences when he finds himself forced into a new situation. He is not a lover of change or adventure. Or he doesn't believe he is; he's never given it the chance. He has something of a low self esteem when it comes to looks and social situations, though he does attempt to shove himself out there. One rejection, however, will often stifle his effort for quite a while.

He is a very sincere individual. He cannot lie for the life of him. Perhaps this explains why he falls for them so often. In any case, he cares for humanity, the environment and living things in general. While he make tremble while standing up for someone or something, he is not going to hold his tongue if he sees bias or discrimination. He's a passionate man, which cancels out his shortcomings.

The majority of Nigel Q. Dawson's childhood was spent struggling to keep up with his athletically gifted siblings. Jonathon Dawson, his father, was an ex-professional ball player who encouraged his boys to seek a place in the sports' world. Most of the Dawson children received their father's abilities, but Nigel found himself to be the exception. He couldn't catch a ball without flinching and his running time was topped by his youngest sister. His metabolism was much too slow to be an athlete.

Eventually, he had to accept that his abilities extended solely to the academic. Fortunately, where his metabolism lacked, his mind made up for in full. He proceeded to excel through high school and graduated medical school magna cumme laude. His relationship with his family had grown rocky by the time he had decided to move to the States, decidedly leaving them only a voice message regarding the move.

He established his practice in New York, NY, where he dated several women, most of which eventually left him for thinner and more handsome men. He was also introduced to quite the different lifestyle and people. Of course, it created discomfort, but he managed to accept it. Upon an enlightening meeting with an ex-soldier, he decided to join the army as a physician to troops overseas. Shipped off to Afghanistan, he spent two years before finally returning and reestablishing himself in California.

While in California, he found a year-old piece of mail, addressed directly to him from the Disney organization. He was baffled at first. And upon comprehending the letter, he found himself growing more and more confused, as he had... never devoted any time to the television let alone Disney movies. He watched The Great Mouse Detective, if only out of curiosity (not that he has much else to do on a Friday night), and found himself drawn to the idea, oddly.
